Jah Lightning has enjoyed an outstanding 18-year career in the music industry. He is an accomplished lyricist, composer and singer who has been on stage since a very young age. Some of his highlights include performing in the Pan African Festival and opening for Shatta Wale. Jah Lightning is a successful international performer: twice in The Gambia between 2012-2014 and once in Togo (2016). These achievements compliment the production of his first album, Final Call. Jah Lightning’s song collaborations cross genres and meld generations into a single star-studded and spectacular moment. This hometown celebrity hosts CTunez Reggae Splash on Coastal TV. The 3-year anniversary celebration of his television show ushered the premier of a complimentary show on Afrik Best Radio online, bringing Jah Lightning and the music he loves to the world. Jah Lightning is networked with professional colleagues in the music industry, including those needed to produce shows of all sizes in Ghana. To be sure, he has already hosted a show with Jah Turban in 2012 and is currently in talks with a Jamaican headliner to produce a large show in Ghana. Jah Lightning is a member of the National Musician’s Union, serving as head officer for the reggae sector central region, Cape Coast. At this level, he votes for leaders who will represent the various genres (e.g. high life, rap, coral, etc.) at national meetings in order to maintain organization within meetings and facilitate effective communication. As president of the corporation, Jah Lightning writes agendas, using them to schedule and chair meetings. He is the focal point of the organization, keeping members on task and moving in a positive, productive direction. CEO: K’Erica Eberhardt Seven years after beginning work in the Jamaican music industry, K’Erica introduced a group of respected international artists to each other and presented the idea of incorporating the HottaDanFyah Muzik name established in Ghana. She created online meeting spaces and filed articles of incorporation. She explained the different responsibilities for each position to the board of directors and taught the president basic meeting procedures and agenda preparation. With thirty years of experience as a tech, K’Erica aptly constructed a strong Internet presence: As a forerunner in online interpersonal interactive environments, she designed and co-taught university classes with threaded discussions that fostered critical thinking a decade before publicly available social media appeared on the scene. K’Erica then used these understandings to network with an international audience where anecdotal evidence indicates she spearheaded a revival of Reggae music both online and on the U.S. West Coast, in addition to facilitating unification of the Rastafari Nation worldwide. These social media marketing skills helped her build a solid following around the world. In order to form the corporation, she married these skills with a knowledge of contracts, modifying a bylaws boilerplate and presenting it for review and approval to the board of directors. Faced with cultural and language barriers, she created a one-sentence contract to buttress verbal agreements. Early in the formation of the company, she mentored the president during interactions with Jamaica and is currently training the treasurer. K’Erica also brings photography and videography skills to the team. She traveled to Taiwan as a guest lecturer after designing a groundbreaking PowerPoint presentation using photos and sound only... no words... to tell a story. Her talents and creative insight combined to produce the first Facebook video of a foreigner performing live in the United States. She then traveled to Jamaica and taught a protégé how to shoot quality images. Together, they became the first international team to produce online promotions of a live show out of Jamaica. Shortly thereafter, pictures of her in Africa networking with the music scene would capture the world’s attention. K’Erica currently livestreams shows from Sipho’s Jamaica in Chico, California every month. Ten years of PTA leadership, including the formation of the first PTA’s in history to Lake County, six months of business success workshops complimenting her college certificate in Entrepreneurship, and a BA in Legal Studies with experience teaching law all provide insight into the complexities of starting and running a thriving enterprise. |
